Where to shoot.
Remember ! as a responcible gun owner, the responcibilty is yours to ensure you stay on the right side of the law. Ignorance is not an excuse.
Firstly, firearm certificate holders, your own certificate will dictate where and what you can shoot.

Windscale Rifle Club
Windscale Rifle Club shoots at its 25 meter indoor range located at Drigg and holds an MoD licence to use Military Ranges.
The club caters for small bore calibre shooting on the indoor range. Due to range certificate and size of the club it cannot shoot full bore rifles on the indoor range.
Club competitions are carried out on the indoor range. Competitions are carried on a regular basis over 12 months through the Phoenix leagues.
Windscale Rifle Club has access to MoD ranges where full bore rifles are used. The ranges are located at Catterick, Bellerby (North Yorkshire).
Full bore rifles are used on the MoD ranges at Bellerby. Various ranges are used from 300 to 600 yards. Organised shoots are done monthly.

Membership application forms can be obtained from the club secretary. All probationary members to the club must service a three-month probationary period.
Before probationary members become full members of the club it is mandatary, they become a member of SASRA.

Clay Pigeon shooting
Clay pigeon shooting should be fun, a little healthy competition is great but firstly. Enjoy it.
Clay pigeon shooting is a great way to hone your skills with a shotgun . In this area we have a couple of options to do this ,professional clay grounds and there are a couple of seasonal shoots that tend to operate throughout spring and summer.
Crabtree clay shoot located in the south of Cumbria is great professionally run clay ground and from personal experiance one of the best clay grounds in the area.
