Where to fish
Dont Forget your Enviroment Agency Rod Licence, follow the link below.
Cumbria has plenty of water, sometimes too much in the wrong place, however we are fortunate to have some amazing places to fish, I have detailed some of these below.
There are many course, game and sea fishing venues, if in doubt give me a call and id be happy to advise you.

Fresh Water.
MIREHOUSE POND
Day Tickets are available instore. Membership forms are available to download from the clubs website.
See Club Website for details.
A not for profit recreational angling club, consisting of 2 ponds, a 2 acre general coarse water and a 4acre specimen water on the old Mirehouse reservoir site of on the edge of the Mirehouse housing estate.
The 2.4acre pond consists of a 32 peg match/pleasure pond "The Top Pond" providing good sport with a mixture of species - Bream, skimmers, roach, perch, tench, rudd, barbel, chub and F1 hybrid carp forming the stock.
The second water "The Bottom Pond" a larger 4.2 acre 42 peg water, (remanence of the old 10 acre reservoir), is more of a "specimen" type water containing carp to double figures, bream to over 7lb, Rudd and Roach to 2lb and perch to 3lb. this also provides plenty of sport with smaller silvers for the pleasure angler who doesn't mind the extra walk.
The lakes
The Lake District is vast with many great places to fish for many different species.
Living or visiting the lakes certainly has its perks, many lakes, tarns, ponds and rivers to fish.
At the time i'm writing this, I have a feeling this section requires some serious input so for now a brief overview.
Different waters have different bylaws and rules.
It is the anglers responsibility to ensure these rules are followed.
The majority of the lakes have good good head of course fish .
Pike ? Loweswater, Bassenthwaite, Grassmere and Crummock would be my personal choices to visit.
If some guided fishing from a boat is more you thing, why not get in touch with Warren from Fishing Windermere for a trip out on his boat Peggy.

Sea Fishing.
Cumbria has the best of both worlds, Beaches of Golden sand, Piers and Promenades as well as some amazing rock marks.
The Irish sea has an abundance of different species, and the tactics you choose to use will largely dictate what species your "likely" to catch.
Lure fishing for Bass is becoming really popular and here at Cumbria Tackle and Guns there is a huge selection of soft and hard lures to chose from, head over to the online Shop to browse these now.
Its important to note that lure rods and spinning rods behave very differently so its wise to think about the type of fishing you plan on doing before you purchase either of these.
That being said, Bass and pollock for example are amazing on light gear and if you're planning to try something new this year, id highly recommend some LRF fishing.
Iv had some great fun fishing for wrasse on a 20gram spinning rod with a little bit of ragworm on.
If you have a particular mark in place feel free to give me a call 01946 691300 to discuss or for any advice, you are of course always welcome to pop in for a chat.
